A divorce, separation, annulment or any other break-up can be disastrous to a person. It can lead to self-pity, alcoholic problems, and other issues. It may be the end of your marriage, but you still have a chance at living a full life after the event. Avoid paralysing yourself by focusing on the things that you have and can do, not on the things you do not have and cannot do. If you have children, find a reliable caretaker while you attend to work or business. You can entertain dating partners but do not engage in another “serious” relationship without giving yourself time to heal. Remain focused on the more important matters like loving your kids and loving yourself.
