Requirements for a UK Fiance or Fiancee Visa
To get a fiancé or fiancée visa for the United Kingdom, the following requirements must be met by the concerned parties.
First, the couple must plan to get married within a period of six months. They must have also met each other in person prior to the fiancé or fiancée coming to the country. Furthermore, they must live together permanently after the marriage. In addition, the applicant for the visa needs to prove that he or she can support himself or herself, or be supported by his or her partner, without requiring assistance from the government in the form of public funds. Those who have successfully applied for this type of visa get to stay in the UK for six months so they can get married. Afterwards, they would need to apply for a marriage visa so they would be able to live and work without any restrictions for two years. At the end of two years, if the couple is still married, then the non-British spouse can apply for permanent residence in the country.
